« on: November 22, 2009, 01:33:50 AM »
while it may seem obvious that duplicate content is penalized google, this topic is still open with several webmasters claiming that google doesnot regard duplicate content as serious as we think..any thoughts?

Unique content does matter if you want recognition and more traffic and ranking on search engines. Avoid copying at all costs. Always be unique and think about standing on your own instead of scrapping content from others.

Though google & search engines doesn't give penalty for duplicate content why to be a stealer and act like you did nothing ?

Hi Luq,
I agree with ryuken. If you want your site to be well known, always use unique content. Also be innovative instead of copy pasting from other sites.

Thanks & Regards,
Blewatt

Yeah, it'll be better to use unique content on your site instead of publishing something that you found on an article directories.

Sure, search engines prefer unique content.  When you have tons of pages with considerably duplicate content possibilities are several of your pages will be filtered by Google & Yahoo (duplicate content "penalty") and you'll likely get no love from MSN as that engine relies strongly on on-page components to rank your website.
